Boys and girls. I'm sure you have some books that you really enjoy reading or looking at. Some of those books are probably full of wonderful pictures, aren't they? Pictures can teach us many things before we learn how to read.

Books can be entertaining and also educational for adults as well as children, so we must always choose our books very carefully.

God has two books in heaven, and in them He records some very important information that concerns you and me and everyone else who has been or ever will be born on this earth. One of those books is the BOOK OF LIFE. The other is a set of books that God calls the BOOK OF WORKS.

When, you took your very first breath, God put a soul into your body and immediately wrote your name down in the BOOK OF LIFE. He does that for every person who is born into this world.

During our lifetime, God makes sure that we hear that Jesus Christ, the SON OF GOD, became a man so that He could take all of the sins of the world upon himself and pay for those sins by dying on a cross. He did that for us more than 2,000 years ago. Every sin ever committed, beginning with those of Adam and Eve, and including the sins of the last person who will be born on this earth, were placed upon Jesus Christ and judged on that cross.

God gives every one of us a "DECIDER", which is also called a "VOLITION", so that we can make up our own minds about the Lord Jesus Christ. Everyone must choose to either believe that Jesus died for him, which is THE GOOD WORK OF GOD, or he must choose to stand before God with his own good works instead.

If a person decides to believe in Jesus Christ as his Saviour, his name will remain written in the BOOK OF LIFE, and he will be rewarded in heaven. However, if a person refuses to believe in Jesus Christ as his Saviour, because he thinks his own good works are going to please the Lord, his name will be blotted out of the BOOK OF LIFE and written in the BOOK OF WORKS when he dies. (Revelation 20:11-15)

God is fair, and there will be a final judgment or exam for those who will not believe in Jesus Christ during their lifetime. When they stand before Him at the final judgment, God will open the BOOK OF LIFE and show that unbeliever where his or her name was written, and he will see that it was blotted out. Then God will open the BOOK OF WORKS and find the name of that unbeliever in it, and then cast him into the Lake of Fire that is being prepared for the Devil and his angels.

KEEP YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE! Believe that Jesus died on the cross as your substitute and spend eternity with HIM.
