By using your own father as an
illustration, it may help you to understand something very important
about God. Your father is not only your father, but he is also your
mother's husband, and he is his father's son as well, but yet he is
still just ONE PERSON.
God is also ONE, but three
personalities are involved, which are: (1) God the Father, who is the
planner of everything in the universe; (2) God the Son, who obeys the
Father's plans; and (3) God the Holy Spirit, who tells us all about
the Son, who is the only visible person in the Godhead.

We know God the Son as JESUS CHRIST,
who obeyed the Father when He came into the world over 2,000 years ago
as a perfect, sinless human being. Jesus lived on this earth for 33
years, and then He died on a cross as our SUBSTITUTE in order to pay
the penalty for all of the sins of the world.
If you are saying, "I believe that
Jesus died for me", you have become a believer in Jesus Christ, and
you are now a Christian. When you become a Christian, God gives a
salvation package to you that is filled to the brim and overflowing
with many wonderful things!
One of the exciting things in that
SALVATION PACKAGE is ETERNAL LIFE. That means, even if your body
dies, you will live with God forever and ever in a new body that can
never die!
By faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we
also share everything that He has. He is the SON OF GOD, and, as
believers in Him, we share His many wonderful blessings, and we are
accepted by God the Father as His sons and daughters and have become a
member of God's family!
Just as your own parents want you to
grow up to be fine men and women, God also wants you to grow up in
your Christian life by getting to know
God's Word, the BIBLE.
As a "baby" Christian, you, must grow
by drinking milk and eating soft foods. God says we must "desire
(want) the milk of the Word of God so it can help us grow".
It takes time to grow up physically,
and it also takes time to grow up spiritually. Year by year our body
will grow, but our mind is the most important thing that needs to grow
if we truly want our life to please the Lord.
In the Bible we are told about the
lives of two very young kings who ruled over the nation of Judah many,
many years ago. They both loved the Lord and they understood God's
Word very well. One of those boys was Joash, who became king when he
was just seven years old. Years later, the other boy was an eight
year old by the name of Josiah. They each ruled the nation for many
years.

A teen-age boy by the name of David
loved the Lord and had a good understanding of God's Word and God's
plan for his life. David became Israel's greatest king when he was 30
years old, and he ruled for forty years.
Other men, like King Saul and King
Ahab, were believers, but they did not pay attention to or obey God's
Word. They became adult men physically, but in their minds they were
like little children in many ways. They both lived a miserable life,
and they both died a miserable death!
No matter how young you are, if you
have believed in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, right now is a good time for
you to decide if you want your life to please the Lord or if you want
to grow up to be miserable like Saul and Ahab were.
You can begin to find out what God's
purpose is for your life right now, while you are still young, if you
will listen to God's Word, believe God's Word, and apply it to your
very own daily life.
We'll talk more about some very
important things that involve both you and God in our next STORY TIME.
WE HOPE YOU WILL COME BACK AGAIN SOON FOR
"STORY TIME"....
