What is reality to you?

Reality is something that can only be determined by what is written in the Word of God. Everything else with which we are bombarded every day by way of the eye gate and the ear gate is nothing more than human viewpoint, so everything we see and hear must be evaluated in light of God's Word.

Faith is the only true reality. You can't see it, feel it or handle it, so it is sometimes difficult for us to understand what faith is. In Hebrews 11, verses 1 through 3, we are told how to identify faith:

"Now faith is the substance (essence) of things hoped for and the evidence of things we cannot see. By means of faith, we can understand that the ages that comprise human history were planned by God in eternity past."

Many Old Testament heroes had faith in the promises of God. We can learn how they expressed their faith when we read the 40 verses found in the eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews in the Bible.

How can we obtain faith? Romans 10:17 tells us, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."

First we must learn how to be in fellowship with God, because God the Holy Spirit is the mentor for believers in the Church Age. When we name our sins to the Lord, we are teachable.

1 John 1:9 gives this principle to us: "If we confess (name) our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to purify us from all unrighteousness (wrong doing)."

In order for us to grow up spiritually, the Lord has given certain men the gift of Pastor Teacher to fulfill His plan for our lives. When you listen to men who have studied and know the original languages of scripture, they can give a correct interpretation of the scriptures to us. When we listen and metabolize God's Word as it is correctly taught, we will grow spiritually, and our lives will honor the Lord.

Hebrews 11:6 tells us, 'Without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He will reward those who diligently seek Him."

Christian, don't spend precious time on this earth living by human viewpoint. If you do, you will never grow up as a believer. Instead, discover the reality of true happiness that can be found only by learning, understanding, believing and applying the infallible Word of God.
