Afraid of what the future has to
offer?
If you have believed in the Lord Jesus
Christ, you shouldn't be afraid of what might happen in the
future. In eternity past God made a decree which makes everything
that has already or that ever will occur an absolute certainty,
and that includes every PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE EVENT and the
precise manner and order of each occurrence. He has a purpose for
allowing evil in the world, because He has given free will to each
one of us, but He also knows what is to be accomplished in the
world.
Colossians 1 :16: "For by Him were all
things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible
and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or angelic rulers or
powers, all things were created by Him and for Him."
Psalm 33:6-9 says: "By the Word of the
Lord were the heavens created; and all the host of them by the
breath of His mouth. He gathered the waters of the sea together as
a heap; He lay up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear
the Lord. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of
Him, because He spoke, and it was accomplished; He commanded, and
it stood fast." |
God created everything for His own glory, and He will
be glorified regardless of what man may do. God made one decree, and
He knew instantly about everything that would ever happen in this
universe. Nothing ever surprises the Lord, because He is OMNISCIENT.
Jesus Christ controls history! Human history began when God created
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Human history consists of every
thought, every action, every decision and every motive of every person
who ever has been or ever will be born. Human history will end when
eternity future begins following the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ
and the Great White Throne Judgment for all who, during their
lifetime, rejected Him as their Saviour.
When you and I truly believe His Word, what have
we to fear?
Romans 10:17 tells us that "Faith comes by
hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Therefore, to have faith we
must do as 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us: "Study to show yourself approved
unto God, a workman that need not be ashamec4 rightly dividing the
Word of Truth."
Hebrews 11:1: "Faith is the essence of
things hoped for, the evidenced things not seen."
Romans 14:23b tells us that we are
committing a sin when we fail to believe God's Word. "WHATSOEVER IS
NOT OF FAITH IS SIN."
