Skeletons in the closet

Past sins and failures are like skeletons in the closet. If you open the closet door to look at them, you will find something that is lifeless and extremely unattractive.

Those skeletons are like old sins that we previously named to God the Father, but we still feel guilty about. The Lord has forgiven you, even though there are some things you may never forget. When you allow yourself to bring out those skeletons and rattle their bones, you can easily be distracted from God's plan and purpose for your life, and the sin of guilt must now be dealt with by the use of 1 John 1:9 so you may be restored to fellowship with the lord.

God tells us in Isaiah 38:17b that He has cast all our past sins behind His back. Again in Isaiah 43:25 the Lord says He has completely forgotten our past sins ... He can't even remember what they were. Then in Isaiah 44:22, the Lord says He has blotted out the memory of the sins we have confessed.

Every believer who desires to have his life glorify the Lord Jesus Christ must learn to DISREGARD his past sins and failures and keep moving ahead to spiritual maturity. (Philippians 3:13,14)

If you know you have been living in the cosmic system for a long period of time, out of fellowship with the Lord, indulging yourself with worldly thoughts and desires, you must first name that sin to God the Father, then occupy your mind with the Word of God, and re-enter the plan God has for your life. When your mind is renewed with God's thoughts, your thoughts and actions will bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:22, 23)
