Put your thinking caps on, and get
ready to listen to our story about a great KING who rules the whole
universe in which we live.
There never was a time when this KING
did not exist in the past, and there will never be a time when He will
not live in the future either. He was here before there were any
stars, or planets, or heavens, or angels, or people.
This KING spoke words of command, and
within six literal days. He
 created
the heavens with it's stars and planets, and also the earth with its
mountains, valleys, plants, birds, and animals. After
everything was perfect, He took some clay from the ground, and He
formed a man and called his name Adam. Then He breathed physical and
spiritual life into Adam and placed him in a beautiful garden which He
named, "The Garden of Eden".
Have you guessed who this KING is? Of
course you have! This KING is God!
God can do nothing that is evil or
wrong, because He is perfect
 GOODNESS. By contrast, you and I can do
things that people think are good, but those good deeds are not always
what God considers to be GOOD. (we'll talk more about that in another
session of our STORY TIME)
God is absolutely FAIR in everything He
does. It is impossible for Him to be unfair to anyone, because He is
perfect JUSTICE. There will be times when you will think that what is
happening to you isn't fair, but if you leave it in His hands, you
will eventually see that it was.
God has the same LOVE for every member
of the human race. It doesn't matter who you are, where you live, or
what color your skin happens to be. He has a plan for every one who
is born into this world, and it is up to you and me to find out what
that plan is for our own individual lives.
How can we find out what His plan is
for us? The answer first begins with you desiring to know His plan.
When you say to yourself, "I want to know God and His plan for my
life", He will provide information for you through His Word, which is
the Bible. It does not happen overnight, but little by little you
will learn and eventually be able to understand so that your life can
glorify HIM.
God is ETERNAL LIFE. He has and will
always exist. You and I had a beginning ... the moment we took our
first breath, we became a human being, and that was our beginning. God
has made it possible for us to share His eternal life, and we will
talk about that in detail in our next STORY TIME together!
There is nothing hidden from God ... He
is ALL KNOWLEDGE! You can't hide from Him.
There is nothing that God cannot do!
He is ALL POWERFUL! He tells us in His Word, "Behold, I am the Lord.
Is anything too hard for me?" Of course, the answer to that question
is "NO".
God is EVERYWHERE at the same time. A
man by the name of David said many years ago, "If I ascend into the
heavens, YOU are there; and if I descend into the lower parts of the
earth, behold, YOU are there".
Our God NEVER CHANGES. He is the same
yesterday, today, and forever.
God is ALWAYS TRUTHFUL! He cannot lie,
because He is perfect in every way.
The next time we get together for STORY
TIME, we will find out much more about who and what God is. We will
also take a closer look at ourselves, and see what God expects of us.
